Michael Gaab spoke on a request to rezone a lot in his neighborhood. He shared concerns about allowing building to a density that would change the character of his neighborhood, Franklin to Fort.

Emy Scherrer encouraged interested parties to attend the upcoming City Council public hearing on this item. This is not a historic district; HPC does not have jurisdiction in this area.

David Gray provided a presentation on the Radio Central Building, a contributing building to the historic district. He shared images of the interior and of the facade of the structure located at 127 E Main Street. He spoke on historic finds uncovered during the renovation process; many of which have been kept and help create a unique result. He discussed research of the space and shared pictures taken over the life of the building. He informed that the project is ongoing.  Mr. Gray said that MRA has voiced support of this project. The building will continue to be an asset to the downtown area.

Jimmy Grant provided a presentation on the Downtown Heritage Interpretation Plan Update. The plan is still in the draft stages and should be available on the Missoula Downtown website soon. Comment is encouraged.

Emy Scherrer spoke on this item. She shared images of the sign that would be directly painted on the brick facade of the existing building where ZACC has relocated. Cathy Bickenheuser asked for consideration for the size of the lettering; as appears, it is quite large and takes away from the historic building; alternately painting on material that would be mounted. Emy Scherrer informed the applicant will be requesting a variance to allow for two painted signs; to be decided by the Design Review Board.

The committee discussed the color and font of the proposed painted sign, which has a more modern feel. Emy Scherrer stated she would share views expressed by HPC with the applicant. Steve Adler shared concerns about damage that may occur.

Emy Sherrer suggested requiring a full application to be submitted for review by HPC.

Farfiews Radio Building - Donna Gaukler responded that she hasn't heard yet from the neighborhood council. Their first goal is to move the building. Not enough staffing capacity to demolish even if that is the end result. Emy Scherrer shared that Ms. Gaukler has been invited to speak to the commission on this project.

Emy Scherrer presented the HPO staff report to the commission which is attached to the meeting record.
