Mr. Colwell advised that these vehicles have served their useful life, all have over 100,000 miles. Two vehicles will be donated to the non-profit community organization of Missoula Works, which helps disadvantaged people get back in the work force. The City has partnered with this organization in the past and Mr. Colwell felt it was a good use of surplus property. The remaining vehicles will be auctioned off with the proceeds being deposited back into the fund that the vehicle purchase originated from.

Jeremy Keene & Brian Hensel presenting

This is the annual resolution to distribute Montana's gas tax funds from the Bridge and Road Safety and Accountability Act (BARSA) to specific projects while committing the City's contribution of five percent in matching funds. The resolution has 3 parts, necessitated because BARSA follows the calendar year while the City follows a fiscal year (FY) of July to June.

There is thirteen thousand dollars left over from fiscal year 2019 that needs to be redistributed to current projects.

BARSA's 2020 funds get distributed to the City's FY2020 and FY2021 projects.

There were no questions from Council or the public.

  • Moved by:Julie Merritt

I move the City Council:  Adopt a resolution requesting that MDT distribute the City of Missoula’s 2020 allocated share of Bridge and Road Safety and Accountability Act (BaRSAA) Program funds, committing to the City’s contribution of five percent in matching funds, and authorizing the Mayor to execute further documents as may be necessary for the distribution of funds.
