Assistant Chief Scott Hoffman brought the confirmation of three police offices to committee. They have three officers up for confirmation. They have two officers that were hired in December of 2018 and one that was hired in February 2019. They are officers Bloomdahl, Bennett and McDonald. They have completed the academy, the FTO program and one year under the supervision of team sergeants and corporals. Officer McDonald came to them post certified from Ontario California so he had to attend just two weeks at the academy. They have all completed the training completed and to be confirmed and he asked that the council recommend them for confirmation.
Julie asked about the vacancies-after these three are confirmed, where does this leave us with vacancies? Scott said currently they are sitting at five vacancies. Chief Jason White will be joining them March 1st. Three positions are at the academy schedule in April. If we can get an additional academy slot in April, we will be hiring an additional person so we will be full on paper as of April.
